Lufthansa trial areas at the hub of Frankfurt Airport
EXCLUSIVE TRIAL AREAS ++ Deutsche Lufthansa operates 15 comfortable lounges at Frankfurt Airport alone. Since early 2019, four of them have been partly remodelled as pilot areas. In the new Business and Senator Class waiting areas, passengers can put the seating of the future to the test. Lufthansa has developed a special range of luxurious yet sturdy upholstered chairs and armchairs in collaboration with famous manufacturers Rolf Benz and Cor, creating waiting areas with a “feel-good guarantee” that are embedded in the attractive lounge architecture.
Large-format pictures communicate subtle and direct brand messages for the airline. Elegant table, standing and pendulum lights create an atmospheric lighting effect. The colour white dominates on walls, lights and tables; on rugs, seating and pictures, it’s Lufthansa’s new primary colour dark blue. Wooden flooring and cognac-coloured armchairs add accents of colour. Functional added value is provided by clever details such as invisible Wi-Fi charging points, directly integrated into the floating tables.
FROM THE WORLDSHOP TO THE LUFTHANSA LOUNGE ++ The new trial areas have been set up in lounge space previously used for displaying products from the Lufthansa Worldshop. We have already worked with the Worldshop operator Miles & More GmbH as a shopfitter and general contractor. Parts of the Worldshop unit we designed were incorporated into the new-look Lufthansa Business and Senator Lounges, including our multifunctional wall panel. Following this, we manufactured and installed wall boards for the Lufthansa trial areas, some with an integrated Wi-Fi charging station. We took on project management responsibilities for electrical and lighting projects, as well as for all wall-side assembly.
