With FinanzPunkt branches, for the first time in Germany, a Sparkasse and Volksbank are coming together under a single roof to improve access for their rural clients, even while remaining competitors. To this end, around 50 Frankfurter Volksbank and Taunus Sparkasse sites in Hochtaunus and Main-Taunus are gradually being amalgamated into 26 FinanzPunkt branches. The two institutions are jointly investing up to five million euros in the roll-out of this forward-looking project.

AN ULTRA-FLEXIBLE SPACE MODEL WITH SAVING POTENTIAL ++ The modular concept developed by holger meyer architektur for the FinanzPunkt branches accommodates a variety of user needs. Depending on the branch type and available space, simple self-service centres with cash machines and banking terminals, as well as staffed service branches, can be designed using the same concept. The latter, with its central reception desk, two customer consultation areas and optional meeting zone, offers additional space for in-person services. The concept achieves its high level of flexibility by splitting the various zones into modular levels, which can be arranged horizontally one behind the other.
With this design, space requirements can be reduced by up to 50% in comparison to the original branches. The fixtures and furniture, which are largely standardised, flexible and pre-manufactured, contribute to cost optimisation.
